Jeffrey S. Newman, M.D., PhD

Dr. Newman was born in Long Island, N.Y. He graduated from Stony Brook University, and went on to earn both his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology, and his M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2002. After completing an Internship at the University of Washington, he completed his Residency in Dermatology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in 2006, and joined Puyallup Dermatology in 2007.

Dr. Newman enjoys all aspects of dermatology practice, with special interests in skin cancer surgery (including Mohs surgery), infectious diseases, and inflammatory diseases of the skin. In addition to keeping current on dermatologic innovations, Dr. Newman has published several articles in scientific journals, including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Archives of Dermatology. Dr. Newman held faculty positions as a Clinical Instructor at UC Davis Medical Center and at the Puget Sound Veterans Administration Hospital as a Clinical Assistant Professor of the University of Washington.

Dr. Newman is Board Certified in Dermatology; his professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the Washington State Dermatology Association, the Washington State Medical Association, and the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society. He is married with two children and likes hiking, snowboarding, and playing guitar.
