Dr. Crowe was born in Dallas, Texas. In 1976 he graduated with a degree in Biomedical Engineering from Texas A&M University and began his medical training at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. In 1980 he entered active duty service in the US Army and completed internship and residency training in Pediatrics at William Beaumont Army Medical Center, El Paso, Texas. In 1989 he was selected for Dermatology training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. In 1994 he was assigned to Madigan Army Medical Center, Tacoma, WA. In June 2002, after completing 22 years of active duty service, he retired as a Colonel and Chief of Dermatology. He joined Puyallup Dermatology in July 2002.
Dr. Crowe is Board Certified in Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Washington State Dermatology Association, the Washington State Medical Association, the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society, the American Contact Dermatitis Society, and the North American Clinical Dermatologic Society. He is a Clinical Instructor for the University of Washington School of Medicine and has numerous publications in professional journals, chapters in textbooks, and authored numerous chapters in on-line textbooks at Emedicine.com.
Dr. Crowe's hobbies include wildlife photography, computers, and golf. He is married with one daughter and a granddaughter. He and his wife, Becci, travel extensively and produced a documentary called "As Close As You Dare - Africa" which has shown across the nation on PBS. The film's web site is www.AsCloseAsYouDare.com. Dr. Newman was born in Long Island, N.Y. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Stony Brook University and went on to earn both his Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology and his M.D. at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in 2002. After completing an Internship at the University of Washington he completed his Residency in Dermatology at the University of California Davis Medical Center in 2006 and joined Puyallup Dermatology in 2007.
Dr. Newman enjoys all aspects of dermatology practice, with special interests in skin cancer surgery (including Mohs surgery), infectious diseases, and inflammatory diseases of the skin.
In addition to keeping current on dermatologic innovations, Dr. Newman has published several articles in scientific journals including the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences and Archives of Dermatology.
Dr. Newman held a faculty position as a Clinical Instructor at UC Davis Medical Center and continues to teach at the Puget Sound Veterans Administration Hospital as a Clinical Instructor of the University of Washington. Dr. Newman is Board Certified in Dermatology and professional memberships include the American Academy of Dermatology, the American Society for Mohs Surgery, the Washington State Dermatology Association, the Washington State Medical Association, and the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society.
He is married with two children and likes hiking, snowboarding, playing guitar, and someday soon, will climb that big ol’ hill outside his office (Mt. Rainier)!
Dr. Vaughan was born in Munford, Tennessee and grew up in rural Tennessee where his father was a country doctor. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Christian Brothers College - Memphis, Tennessee, received an Army scholarship to medical school, and graduated in 1984 from the Oral Roberts University School of Medicine. Dr. Vaughan completed his internship at Tripler Army Medical Center in Honolulu, served as a flight surgeon at Fort Hood, Texas for two years and entered dermatology residency training at Walter Reed Army Medical Center in Washington, D.C. Upon completion of his residency in 1990, Dr. Vaughan spent 4 years at the Army Hospital in Wurzburg, Germany where he honed his skills as a dermatologist and served as the Chief of Medicine. He went on to be Chief of Dermatology at Fort Carson, Colorado 1994 -1998 and served his last seven years of active military service at Madigan Army Medical Center. During his time at Madigan he was honored with several teaching awards, including twice receiving the "Teacher of the Year" from the residents in Family Medicine. After retiring from the Army as a Colonel in 2005 Dr. Vaughan worked at the Franciscan Medical Group in University Place, Washington for three years then joined Puyallup Dermatology in 2008.
Dr. Vaughan is Board Certified in Dermatology, and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, the Masters Dermatology Association, the Washington State Dermatology Association, the Washington State Medical Association, and the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society. He is on the Clinical Faculty of the University of Washington.
In his spare time Dr. Vaughan likes to golf, ski, and create memories with his children.
After over 25 years of service to the community Dr. Wiklund retired from Puyallup Dermatology in 2008. He still drops in to check on us and occasionally fills in for a few days when one of the partners is out of the office. We thank him for his many years of compassionate service and wish him well in all his future endeavors.
Dr. Wiklund was born in Tacoma and grew up in Puyallup, Washington.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Pacific Lutheran University in 1970 and from the University of Washington Medical School in 1974. After completing internship and residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Southern California Medical Center in Los Angeles he trained in Dermatology at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. He completed his Dermatology residency in 1980 and returned to Puyallup to start his practice in dermatology.
Dr. Wiklund is Board Certified in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Academy of Dermatology. His professional memberships include the American Medical Association, the Society of Investigative Dermatology, the American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, the Washington State Medical Society and the South Puget Sound Dermatology Society.
He is a Clinical Professor of Medicine at the University of Washington School of Medicine and was selected as Teacher of the Year 2000 - 2001.
He is married with three children. Hobbies include golf, collecting art, and photography. He regularly travels to remote locations in third world countries as part of medical missionary visits. With the assistance of many others he produced the "PARTICIPANT'S REFERENCE MANUAL - Preparing for Your Mission Trip." This is a major project for HEALTH TEAMS INTERNATIONAL.
